Something that was missing from Seven Sages but was a staple in the Paper Mario series was the recipe system. I'd like to gladly announce that this problem has been rectified with Starlite Worlds. Although there's not as much fanfare for recipes and itemcrafting as there is for badges or action commands, I still think that this development is worthy enough for it's own thread.
Tase T. and Zess T. brought a fun little side mechanic to Paper Mario & PM:TTYD respectively. Granted, I never spent too much time cooking later in the games. For one, making an item simply took to long. The animation was nice the first time, but when you want to convert a batch of items it was quite annoying. Other than that, it was fun to experiment and see what items there were for you to create.
In Seven Sages, we decided it'd be too much work and too little pay off to try and make our own system. The best we could probably do in Rpg Maker 2003 would probably be a very limited "Mushroom Cooking" script, which would just focus on mixing items like Honey Syrup and Super Mushroom to get Honey Supers. Rather than do that, we just made the combinations readily available in the game.
Starlite World's Tose T. should be a welcome addition to the list of mechanics in the game. Hopefully, it'll be just as good or better than the Paper Mario system.
Features/Notes: -Quick, streamlined system for cooking items (No obnoxious animations!) -Start off with the ability to combine two items -Enhance equipment by mixing them with items (Fire Flower + Shirt = Fireproof Shirt) -Upgrade Tose T.'s efficiency with badges! (Get more items out of each cooking attempt!) -Everytime you make a new item, it's added to a list of items you've made. You can keep record by asking Tose T. what you've made -And more!

Depending on how much attention we give to it, Tose T.'s Kitchen could play a big role. As you've mentioned Mirron, it may end up being the key to getting the most out of your gear. There will be hints in the game for some recipe's but most things you'll make will be because of you own guessing. And of course, if you discover that a Mushroom and a Koopa Leaf make a Shroom Meal, there's no law against sharing the recipe with everyone. Like in real life I guess, lol.
Cooking things like weapons/armor/badges will be riskier than making items. For one, generally their more valuable. Secondly, the result may not be better than the original. Generally they will be, but not necessarily. And lastily, the combinations that actually work will be fewer than those of normal items. You've just gotta go with your gut.

This could be helpfull, as long as the recipes make sence. But two items? I hope you can also still just use one item like in paper mario.
It would be fun to have some items that aren't of any use to you, but that are necessary for cooking. (maybe that can be used for a lot of recipes, rather than just special ones, and some things, like water, would be easier to find than others)

I for one loved the cooking system, and had a item inventory full of stuff when I headed off to the final part of the game, so this is happy news for me. ^_^
Any thoughts on how many recipes you guys are shooting for?
