The Starlite Stream Flowing between the Starlite Worlds is a weird assortment of aimless energy. Although it appears random and unorganized to the untrained eye, the Starlite energies are actually a highway of energy transportation. According to E. Gadd, the best way to thing of the Starlite Stream is as a series of tubes. We ourselves cannot travel through the Starlite Stream, but there are ways to send information between worlds using the energy highways.
In other words, Super Mario RPG: The Starlite Worlds has the ability to generate certain types of data files that can be read on other people's computers. For instance, there will be about 25 Star Pieces to find in the game. However, you'll need 30 to buy all the items they are used for. The solution is to go online (most likely to this forum) and ask a fellow member to generate a Star Piece for you. They can it while playing the game, and then they send that file to you. You simply put the file in the "Stream" folder, play your game, and import the Star Piece. Of course, each save file has a unique ID, so you can't keep importing the same Star Piece since the game will keep track.
This seems like a trivial ability, but there are other features that benefit from this like the "My Little Minion" feature.
Further in the game, you'll encounter the "My Little Minion Shop." Essentially, it's a pet system. You buy a minion (enemy enemy that you've fought except for some bosses) and raise it by giving it items. These items raise it's stats and make it stronger. You then use the Starlite Stream system to send your pet minion to someone else's game where they can fight him. (You don't get any exp or drops, of course). You also get to name your minion. When the time comes, we'll open up a thread for people to challenge each other with minions.
For example, someone could make a post like:
Minon: Shelly Type: Koopa Troopa Rank: 2 (Rank is based on how much you've raised him) Link To Download Data
or
Minion: Parapara Type: Paragoomba Rank: 2 HP Boost: 50 FP Boost: 10 POW Boost: 20
We plan on making for features to take advantage of interconnectivity with other games.

Wow... this is a really advanced thing to do for a fan game. You guys really put a lot of work into making your games shine. I can't wait to see the final game.

Hmmm, this is a pretty neat idea, though I've never been fond of online methods to better a person's gaming experience. However, these two ideas sound pretty nifty...assuming you find enough people to interact with and such. That shouldn't be a problem in the first couple of months after release, since I'm sure everyone will be playing the game and testing this (among other) systems out. Soon after, however, the player base will drop substantially, especially those that traverse the forums.
Still, I quite like the way this idea's heading on. That monster part sounds the most interesting of all. I hope it'll be possible to create a nice challenge using it. I can't wait to see how this'll work out.
