This is the formal announcement of my new RPG Maker VX game, The Shattered Star. Story - In the past, an ancient rod was created to keep peace in the lands up in the stars, the Star Rod. The Star Rod had the ability to grant wishes for people, but also contained power that if it ended up in the wrong hands would cause chaos throughout the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser steals this rod, and goes to capture Princess Peach, however the Star Rod shatters into 5 pieces and Mario must find the pieces. Screenshots   Characters Mario: A great hero. After the Star Rod shatters, he goes on a quest to find the remains of the Rod. Gnarly: A Gnarantula that Mario finds on Barnacle Beach. Gnarly is extremely nice to everyone, unless that person proves to him that he is mean. He joins Mario after his wishes weren't granted by the Star Rod. Bowser: An evil Koopa who stole the Star Rod in hopes to being able to defeat Mario, however the Star Rod shatters. The plot seems too much like PM unless you have some crazy twists or other things to give it an identity. Maybe Bowser ends up not being the main antagonist or something.
Hope to see more. Shards of reality is completely different. And yes - I know there's some similarities to the Paper Mario plot (when I originally thought of the plot, it was going to be a Paper Mario sequel, but I scrapped that) but there's definitely going to be some things to make the plot original.
