Racing Games in RPG Maker?

Is it possible to make a racing game(decent) in a RPG Maker?
What would it need?

Lol, you might need to make a Mode 7 for that one. And pictures. Tons.
I really suggest making a game like that in another engine. RPG Maker's just limited to games that aren't beyond the point.

We've done simple racing minigames before that were at least fun.
If it was a full game, it could be done with more effort.

The first ICU Gigasoft game was a racing game for 2k(3).
It was full of ambition and big ideas, little on content.
You'd have to use VX/XP and some really good scripts, and probably mode 7 like JTH said.
