Those genre's lend themselves better to weird... "art."

Aside from music quality and such, the remakes have unique extras.
Copy-pasta-a-go-go!
Nintendo 3DS - Ability to take a picture of yourself and use it as your field background.
PlayStation Portable - Two players can play on a single field using one PlayStation Portable (only some modes).
Wii - You can use motion controls to move and rotate the Puyo.

Sadly importing the 3DS version is pointless thanks to Nintendo and their way of saying "NOU" to imports (Wii can be modded though) .
