So what exactly motivates you guys to make a RPG Maker game or whatever? Do you just enjoy making the game, do you like knowing that people will download and play the game?

I know people like U Division and C Division, when they make a game it's pretty much guaranteed a good 1000+ downloads, however, I don't think this is the case for many of us.

For me, motivation is pretty much my main problem when making a game, after a month or so, I lose pretty much all motivation to create something. So, I'm just wondering - What motivates you to make a game?

It's my main hobby and what keeps me going through each week of school without screaming and ripping my hair out out of bordom after each day. Without much else motivation, I tend to get lazy with my games sometimes.

C-Division is the only one of us who's motivation has driven him to finish a game. Twice.

Me? RPG Maker games are just a fun hobby, and I'm always looking to test myself by designing new systems and engines to make games. For that reason, I'm not as concerned with finishing an actual game, which is why I haven't finished a game by myself.

Motivation is my main problem too. Thankfully, C-Division is the solution in a way.

Mine used to be just finishing something. Now with the popularity of SS, like when it gets mentioned on random forums and stuff, my new motivation is to make the best mario rpg fan game and most well known. (Lol, i sound like a generic kid's show, " I wanna be the best ___ EVER!")

In the first day of August I had a weird dream and I created the plot for The Stars Of Time based on the dream so that's what gives me motivation to work on The Stars Of Time.I wonder if someone else experienced a similar dream.

hm well what i adore most of rpg making is making systems of other games and new ones, sorta challenge to me.
i haven't made too many games so i can tell that my motivation is.... being recognized for my efforts and get known with it.
