Ever time I try to guard or superguard I end up taking double damage. Is there more to trying to guard then just pressing the A button just before you get damage?

No, there's not much more to it.
Don't worry, we're increasing the guard window for the next version so it'll be easier.

What do you mean by "double damage"? Do you just mean normal damage?

By double damage I mean "critical" damage where an attack does twice the normal amount.
