Note: This tut is made for noobs. If you know RPG2k3 good, you should know how to do this

)
Here is a small tut on how to add sprites like Monsters, Pictures, Animations, CharSets, etc. to your game. Also, this isn't for just sprites, it can be drawings, as long as it fits Animation's maximum size or Charsets maximum size if you're adding it to those

) When I wanted to add a sprite, I looked on the internet for a tut on how to, but none that I found worked. So I combined one with a method I found on my own. This also lets you keep your sprites/drawings original quality.
1: Open up a blank file in whatever you use. (To follow my method, use MS Paint.)
2: Put your Drawing/Sprite inside that file. Whatever you do, DO NOT LEAVE IT WHITE!!!!!!! USE A COLOR! Black is fine.
3: Save it as a PNG. Don't save it as 256-Color .bmp. It will reduce the quality, which we do not want, no?
4: Google and download Ifranview. If you already have it, go ahead and open it up.
5: Open your file inside, and go to Image > Decrease Color Depth. Tick the 256 color box, and untick Floyd-Steithenburg or whatever dithering.
6: Save your file.
7: Go into RPG Maker, and import the file in. (if you don't know how to import a file, refer to the 'Close Project' button (not really, but the internet.)
8: THIS IS IMPORTANT: Right/Left click on the COLOR OF YOUR BACKGROUND, not the sprite. DO NOT LEAVE IT ON THE SPRITE OR ELSE IT WON'T WORK. Then click OK.
9: To test if it worked...
Monsters: Go into Monsters and open up your file, and look inside the Preview box. If the background color fills it up, you've done it right! If you only see your file, then you didn't do it right.
CharSets: If you did it right, the preview box shouldn't be filled with black and covering your sprites. But to really test, you'll have to add it into your game.
Pictures: I don't know, but I think it's the same as CharSets. Or Monsters.
Animation files: To test, go into the Animation editor and add a sprite to a blank animation. If it doesn't have it's background inside the preview of the animation, then you did it right. If it does, then you didn't.
And that's it. I hoped that helped a few newbs.
