Can't Use Item Menu

I have the latest version (2.0.2) and whenever I try to open up the item menu, it gives me an error message. Have any idea how to fix this?

Edit: I now tried going into battle, and right before the Experience screen, it gave me another error message.

Did you update from an old version, but still have the same save file?

Yes, I did.

But, either way I got it working because Spruigi1999 helped me through it.

To get to Wuzzel Woods, when you enter Mushroom Plains, go straight down until you reach the woods.
